Nikola loves animals. We worked together to create an Employment Experience Plan (EEP) that involved working in an animal shelter (she loves dogs). Although working in an animal shelter aligned well with her interests, we weren't able to secure an employment experience at an animal shelter. Working with horses was also a top interest according to Nikola's Interest Inventory and we coordinated a work experience at a local ranch. Avon was open to learning new skills, wanted to build on his employability skills.
Through the YEFP Avon completed his CPR certification, and became certified as a Fork Lift Operator.
One of Avon's employment experiences gave him the opportunity to work with a professional videographer on the set of a docuseries. Because of that experience, Avon is actively pursuing certification as a drone specialist, with the hopes that he can break into the film industry.

Jared has experience working in the post secondary world. Jared joined the YEFP feeling burned out from racial tensions and was looking for an opportunity to build new skills and explore other career options.
Jared was able to secure a permanent position in post secondary education while he was in the YEFP!

Jayden is interested in SJ research and had the opportunity to work with a BC community agency working on a project which was helping racialized students to report race-based bullying incidences at school. Something Jayden has intimate knowledge of. In this video Jayden and her mentor are setting things up for online/remote work.
