In the fall of 2023 Kieshawn had an opportunity to be mentored by award winning music professionals in the Canadian music industry, he attended music, writing, and art education workshops and seminars, and gained more insight into the business side of the music business. These experiences were invaluable. This was the first time Kieshawn had ever met award-winning music professionals within and external to his community. It was the first time he was able to access music education which matched his learning interests, learning styles, and potential. This experience has led to new industry connections, and a paid position working independently as a hip hop artist in residence.
